"Marc came up with a lot of great ideas - the arches throughout the house and trim work on the columns were both his ideas and complimented the style of the house. When he was working on the second story, he showed me how moving a few walls would significantly add to the square footage of the house. I appreciated his insight and incorporated all of his ideas and improvements. I love my house!" - Esther P. (Georgetown, CA) "We had heard of Marc's work, and we wanted him to do everything he could on our house, and he basically did everything. One thing that I would say about Marc is that right away we felt very comfortable with him. In fact, he actually built this house with a handshake - there was no contract. He shook hands with Len, and that was it - we trusted him that much. I have recommended him to many people, and now at least four of our neighbors (that I know of) have had him build houses or do work for them too. He's honest - that's the nice thing. He's very honest, and you can't find that very much these days."
-Len and Peggy B. (Georgetown, CA) "What characterizes Marc Koder and Koder Construction Inc.? Honesty. Integrity. Marc was recommended to me when I started inquiring about local contractors, and he came and talked to me long before I was ready to build my house. I felt comfortable with him right away. No one I've talked to has ever had a single negative thing to say about him. I happily recommend him to everyone. You could write anything good about him and his work that you wanted, and it would be true" - Mike T. (Garden Valley, CA)

"We had to take a tree out of the property, and being flat-landers, we didn't want to do that, but there was really no choice. Marc told us where to get the tree milled, so we got lumber from the black oak, and then Marc built a mantle from that black oak, which is over our hearth. The hearth is also interesting, because we gathered quartzite rocks from our property, and he asked us to pick our favorite big rocks. We left a pile for him to work from, and then he built the elevated hearth around the fireplace...he is just an artist in some respects." - Bunny J. (Georgetown, CA) "What I loved about Marc was that I wanted to meet regularly, and he was gracious enough to do that. We could only meet with him on the weekends, because that's when we were in the area. He would come on Saturday, and we would walk around the house, and we really appreciated that. Whenever he had an idea, as the project was progressing, he would call. As the builder, he could visualize the way things would go together. He kept the project going, and he communicated very well. A lot of contractors don't believe in what I call redundant communication - going over things again and again. But Marc was very good at communicating during the project, which is what we wanted. You can have a very tight drawing and a very good spec, but there are still a thousand arbitrary decisions to be made in every project, and we wanted to vote on every one of them. That might wear some contractors out and frustrate them, but we never got that impression from Marc. In the end, we were very happy with the results and ended up with a very well-built, sturdy house.
